United Way of Nevada County's
Major Roles are:


Resource Investment:
UWNC provides a leadership role in dealing with the issues of greatest concern to Nevsfs County residents. The goal is to bring together agencies that provide services under umbrella issues so that contributions made to UWNC's Community Investment Fund can be focused in a more collaborative fashion. These areas are:
    - Supporting youth development and strengthening families in NC
    - Maintaining self sufficiency and independence for seniors and the   disabled in NC
    - Resolving life threatening crisis in NC
    - Encouraging a drug free NC through education, substance abuse   prevention or intervention in NC

Community Catalyst:

UWNC serves as a catalyst for cooperative problem solving, focusing financial and leadership resources where they are needed the most, and creating a lasting and changing impact on our community. Some of the various community collaboration efforts include:
    -  Read to the Young Child
    -  Community Assessment Project Comprehensive Reports
    -  The Nevada County Meltdown
    -  Coalition for a drug free Nevada County
    -  2-1-1

Resource Development:
Funds are raised by the community by participating in:
    -  Workplace giving campaigns
    -  Corporate giving
    -  Individual donations
    -  Attending special events
